Job Description

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial processes. Your primary aim will be to minimize the risk of potential hazards such as fires, explosions, and the release of dangerous substances. In this position, you will assess the safety of various chemical processes, implement safety management systems, and provide technical advice to enhance operational safety. You will collaborate closely with project teams, operations staff, and compliance officers to integrate safety measures into all stages of product development and operation. Your keen analytical skills and proactive approach will be essential in identifying safety initiatives that ensure both compliance with regulatory standards and the protection of personnel and equipment.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential safety hazards in processes.
  • Develop and implement safety management systems to improve operational safety practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety protocols into project designs.
  • Monitor and analyze data to detect trends and develop solutions for safety risks.
  • Design and review safety features and control systems for process equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards at all times.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and workshops to educate staff on safety protocols.
  • Lead incident investigations and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to legal safety requirements.
  • Prepare detailed safety reports and documentation to support process evaluations.
  • Advise management on safety improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements to enhance process safety practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in process safety or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices in the industry.
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safety management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey safety guidelines to teams.
  • Proficient analytical skills with the capability to identify and solve safety issues.
  • Experience with safety management software and other relevant technological tools.
