Job Purpose
Provide strategic leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of high-profile waste management projects and programmes.
Oversee and direct project teams in the execution of complex waste management consultancy assignments.
Drive innovation and thought leadership in waste strategy, circular economy, and sustainable infrastructure development.
Lead client engagement at senior levels, building long-term partnerships and securing major projects.
Take responsibility for the financial performance of projects and contribute to divisional targets.
Represent AESG in industry forums, conferences, and working groups, enhancing the company’s visibility and thought leadership in the waste management sector.
Qualification
Master’s degree in Waste Management, Environmental Engineering/Science, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in waste management consultancy, with a strong track record of managing large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects.
In-depth knowledge of advanced waste treatment, resource recovery, and recycling technologies.
Demonstrated experience in policy development, strategy formulation, and advisory at government or senior corporate level.
Familiarity with international waste management standards, circular economy principles, and sustainability frameworks (e.g., LEED, Mostadam, Estidama, or similar).
Responsibilities
Lead multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of complex and large-scale projects, ensuring high-quality outputs and client satisfaction.
Develop waste management strategies for buildings, master plans, and city-scale developments.
Provide expert advisory on waste management policy, planning frameworks, and infrastructure development.
Conduct waste generation assessments and recommend infrastructure sizing for assets such as MRFs, composting facilities, transfer stations, and landfills.
Lead techno-economic and feasibility assessments, evaluating cost-effectiveness, environmental performance, and operational efficiency.
Oversee financial management of major projects, including profitability, cost control, and delivery performance.
Drive business development through proposals, bids, client negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
Engage with regulators, authorities, and industry leaders to support policy development and sector advancement.
Review and validate deliverables to ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practice.
Lead technical workshops, design coordination reviews, and stakeholder presentations.
Mentor and develop senior and mid-level team members, supporting capability growth and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to divisional leadership, including resourcing, pipeline planning, and strategic initiatives.

Strong strategic and commercial acumen with the ability to drive business growth and market positioning.
Proven experience leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and senior stakeholder engagement skills.
Advanced knowledge of waste policy, infrastructure planning, modelling, financing, and sector economics.
Ability to interpret and review architectural and infrastructure designs from a waste operations perspective.
Exceptional technical report writing and presentation skills.
Demonstrated technical leadership in solid waste management and waste strategy development at local, national, and regional scales.
Strong understanding of waste technologies and related infrastructure planning and development processes.
Extensive experience managing and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
Advanced knowledge of international waste and resource management policy and strategy, life-cycle analysis, circular economy, net-zero and zero-waste frameworks, waste projections and carbon modelling, waste operations and collections, waste infrastructure planning, sustainable procurement, and economic / financial analysis.
