Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal System Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise‑scale Bare Metal and Cloud hardware platforms. This role requires deep expertise in server systems, data center infrastructure, large‑scale hardware design, and cross‑functional collaboration across engineering, supply chain, and infrastructure teams.

The ideal candidate will act as a technical authority and design leader, influencing platform architecture, driving process improvements, and ensuring scalable, reliable system deployments.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Engineering

• Design and deploy enterprise‑class server and networking solutions for large‑scale Bare Metal and Cloud platforms
• Create detailed configuration and design documentation used for procurement, manufacturing, and deployment of servers, racks, and rows at scale
• Provide technical guidance to system integrators and manufacturing partners during factory builds and validations
• Evaluate SKU feasibility, design constraints, and engineering trade‑offs in collaboration with hardware and platform teams

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Interface with engineering development teams to gather system requirements and provide feedback on hardware design feasibility
• Partner with data center infrastructure engineering teams to align hardware designs with platform requirements
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Capacity Planning, and Operations to ensure smooth transitions and handoffs of server designs
• Communicate effectively across multiple engineering groups to define priorities, schedules, and resource needs

Program Execution & Leadership

• Lead cross‑organizational discussions to drive alignment and decision‑making
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track project status, risks, and milestones
• Balance multiple workstreams and competing priorities independently in a fast‑paced environment
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME), providing design guidance to broader virtual and global teams

Process & Operational Excellence

• Lead internal and external process improvement initiatives
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process documentation
• Monitor internal requests and establish scalable processes to improve efficiency and internal customer support
• Introduce new perspectives and best practices to solve complex technical and operational challenges

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in system engineering, hardware platforms, or data center infrastructure

Strong expertise in:

• Enterprise servers and hardware platforms
• Networking fundamentals and data center design
• Rack‑level and row‑level hardware deployments
• Proven experience working with system integrators, manufacturers, and suppliers
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hyperscale cloud or large data center environments
• Familiarity with supply chain and capacity planning workflows
• Experience leading cross‑functional or cross‑organizational programs
• Background working in Bare Metal, Cloud Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering environments
