Job Overview:

The Principal Materials Administrator provides solutions to problems that may be atypical or infrequently occurring based on practice and existing precedents or procedures. The work of the Principal Materials Administrator directly impacts the quality of the Teams work. They can communicate technical Material Management information to the Team and suggest improvements to existing processes.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentoring and leadership to the Material Management Team.
  • Ensure effective communication among cross-functional Teams.
  • Identify opportunities to better organize and expedite the materials to the work front .
  • Accountable for leading the team members to the successful administration of Material Management activities, chairing meetings, and resolving problems.
  • Analyze and determine required Business action based on Key Performance Indicators.
  • Initiate Management of Change where appropriate.
  • Solid understanding of the Material Management System (Smart Materials).
  • Ensure that meetings, analysis, investigations, follow-up actions, and support are completed in a timely, thorough, and well-documented manner.
  • Ensure that the project material control process is accurate, timely documented, and complete.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Associate’s Degree / Foundation (or equivalent) in relevant discipline or HSD / GED / IGCSE or three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Two to eight (2 to 8) years of relevant Experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Capable of working under pressure, managing a team to lead by example, handling high volumes of work, and balancing conflicting demands promptly while constantly meeting deadlines and targets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required to deal effectively with operational management throughout the organization with solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Material Management and all aspects of the broad tasks.
  • Familiar with materials, specifications, and Materials Management systems.
