GEMS Our Own English High School- Dubai (OOD), is looking for an outstanding, innovative Primary Vice Principal to join the team in April 2026.

The successful candidate will play a key role on the Senior Leadership Team supporting the Principal in driving forward the whole school strategically, creatively, and operationally.

We are looking for an inspiring leader with energy and commitment who recognizes the potential of our students, has a visible and collaborative leadership style, and will work with our staff to continue the school’s work to develop an aspirational learning environment for our school community.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the school’s vision and mission, GEMS core values, all policies, and practices, and will deputize for the Principal as required and assist in shaping & implementing the educational strategy for the school.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Embracing and encouraging the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
  • Leading on effective monitoring and development of the SEF and SDP.
  • Leading on curriculum and its adaptation to meet the needs of all students.
  • Leading on performance management and performance development plans.
  • Overseeing and ensuring high standards across the KG and Primary phase.
  • Managing budgets and undertaking teaching and other professional duties as reasonably delegated by the Principal.
  • Assisting the Principal and the Senior Leadership Team of the school, in all aspects of school improvement, school evaluation, planning policies and procedures and taking full /shared responsibility for the school in the absence of the Principal.
  • Being an integral part of a successful leadership team.
  • Promoting the school to all stakeholders and taking a high-profile and visible role in the school community
  • Taking full responsibility for leading and managing significant aspects of the school, under the overall direction of the Principal.
  • Improving standards in academic performance, care and well-being.
  • Leading professional development to ensure high quality learning and teaching.
  • Assisting the Principal with the effective and efficient use of school management information systems and the financial management of school, admissions, and enrolment.

Skills

Required qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education or other relevant field with a teaching qualification
  • 10 years’ educational experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within KG and Primary in the UAE
  • NPQH or other relevant senior leadership qualifications (desirable)
