Presales Engineer

The Role:

Pre Sales Engineer / Solution Architect.

• Design solutions that include Grass Valley products starting from a single product like Video switcher, Camera chain, SDI Router etc. And more complex solutions including Broadcast IP infrastructure, Cloud Solutions and Software solution based on GV AMPP, throughout MEA and occasionally help other regions within the EMEA countries.
• Liaise with Customers, System Integrators and internal departments on matters regarding solutions designed.
• Rectify or escalate any issues potentially affecting the solution you design.
• Visit locations as required to maintain successful completion of Projects, and to perform demos (40% travel 60% office work)
• Create and submit documentation related to the solution designed including drawings and solution description.
• Create Proposal Documentation and discuss this with customer and with GV Delivery department in order for them to be able to deliver the project.
• May be required from time to time to attend GV exhibitions.

Qualifications:

• Ability and willingness to travel at short notice to meet client deployment demands
• Sound knowledge of broadcast television principles essential (operation and/or configuration of Grass Valley software or hardware preferable)
• Competent in use of Windows and associated applications
• Some competence in using Linux operating systems
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft workstation and server operating systems
• Sound knowledge of Networking LAN/WAN principles
• Experience with JavaScript and HTML are desirable
• Experience in alternative operating systems an advantage
• Knowledge of commonly used broadcast equipment e.g., Video and audio routers, VTRs, vision switchers/mixers etc. advantageous.
• Excellent customer facing skills
• Knowledge on playout solution an advantage
• The Candidate should have worked already in TV production facilities, Playout Center, System integrator, GV competitor or any other place related to GV business.
• Arabic speaking is preferred.
