Job Description

A Presales Engineer is a critical role within a technology or solutions-driven company, responsible for interfacing with potential clients to demonstrate product solutions that meet their specific needs. This position involves working closely with the sales team to identify client needs, provide technical expertise, and create solutions that can be effectively communicated to those clients. The Presales Engineer acts as both a technical consultant and a deal maker, driving customer satisfaction and facilitating the sales process through their deep understanding of the company's offerings and the client's requirements. A successful Presales Engineer is both technically skilled and adept at understanding and addressing clients' business challenges and goals, providing essential support that helps close deals and foster long-term client relationships.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Develop and deliver product presentations and demonstrations tailored to client needs.
  • Create and review detailed proposals and solutions architectures for client projects.
  • Conduct onsite or virtual product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors’ products and identify potential benefits of company solutions.
  • Assist customers in evaluating and understanding the benefits and effectiveness of company solutions.
  • Work closely with product development teams to understand product updates and relay client feedback.
  • Manage technical due diligence and solution requirement gathering for prospective clients.
  • Customize product solutions as needed to better fit specific client requirements.
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other industry events.
  • Create and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers of clients.
  • Lead the technical training and development of sales team members to enhance their skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Presales Engineer or similar role, with technical expertise.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills tailored to varied audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to creatively address client needs.
  • In-depth understanding of software and hardware solutions, and systems analyses.
  • Ability to work well within a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility to travel for client meetings or product demonstrations as required.
