Job Description

A Presales Engineer is a pivotal component of sales and customer engagement teams, tasked with bridging the gap between customer needs and the technical aspects of a product. This role involves working closely with sales representatives, customers, and product development teams to offer technical solutions, demonstrations, and support during the sales process. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and technical skills, with a deep understanding of the products and services being offered. By ensuring that the technical aspects of sales proposals are sound and aligned with customer requirements, the Presales Engineer plays a crucial role in facilitating successful sales and enhancing customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical support during customer presentations.
  • Conduct detailed technical presentations to explain product features and benefits.
  • Analyze customer requirements to tailor solutions that meet their needs effectively.
  • Develop and deliver proof of concept demonstrations and pilots for customers.
  • Coordinate with product management teams to align on current and future features.
  • Assist in developing and responding to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP).
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of competitor products and industry trends.
  • Train and educate sales teams and partners on new product features and updates.
  • Act as a bridge between customers and product development to relay technical feedback.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and sales support materials.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other promotional events as required.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving technical issues during the sales cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in a presales role or similar customer-facing technical position.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts with the ability to simplify them for clients.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a timely manner.
  • Experience with software or hardware sales processes and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
