We are searching for an experienced Practice Lead – Energy Practice (UAE) at our United Arab Emirates (UAE) or Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) facility.

Position Overview

The Practice Lead will be responsible for establishing, leading, and growing Palladium GCC’s Energy Practice in the UAE and the wider region. This senior leadership role will oversee the development and management of a portfolio of projects, drive business development, and ensure technical excellence and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in utility management, grid integration, renewable energy, energy storage, regulatory reform, and project delivery, with a proven track record in multinational environments. The role will also involve close regional coordination and cooperation with Hill International (a GISI CG company), which has a significant presence in GCC and the global Palladium business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic growth and direction of the energy practice, developing and executing business development plans in line with Palladium’s vision and growth strategy.
  • Manage and deliver a portfolio of complex energy projects across the GCC, including utility transformation, grid modernization, regional markets and renewable energy integration.
  • Identify new clients and business opportunities, prepare proposals, and manage client relationships, focusing on key accounts such as TAQA Group, National Grid Saudi Arabia, Saudi Electricity Company, DEWA, EWEC, Masdar, ACWA, and international donors.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain talent, building a high-performing, diverse team to implement the practice’s vision and deliver outstanding results.
  • Develop internal processes and standards to ensure consistency, quality, and best-in-class service delivery across all projects.
  • Foster collaboration with other GISI operating companies and global teams, leveraging cross-functional expertise and lessons learned.
  • Represent Palladium GCC as a thought leader at industry conferences, webinars, and on social media, raising the firm’s profile and sharing knowledge on emerging energy practices and technologies.
  • Ensure technical excellence and quality control across all deliverables, maintaining rigorous standards and driving innovation.
  • Provide strategic advisory support to clients and internal teams, including market analysis, regulatory guidance, and technical due diligence.
  • Travel internationally as required to project locations, client meetings, and industry events.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive consulting experience in the energy sector, with a focus on utility management, grid integration, renewable energy, and energy storage.
  • Proven track record of leadership and team building, with experience managing diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Deep understanding of GCC and international energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends.
  • Existing relationships with key GCC utility accounts and international donors.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to build trusted relationships with partners, clients, donors, and investors.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, proposal preparation, and client acquisition.
  • Experience working with multilateral development banks, international donors, and strategic clients.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual agility, and superb analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is valued but not required.
  • Multinational experience and ability to navigate diverse cultural and regulatory environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in capital portfolio optimization, asset management, and regulatory reform.
