About the role:
We are seeking a Portfolio Manager to lead our Cross-Border Remittances and E-Money Wallet portfolios across the GCC region. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, drive profitability, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster strategic partnerships to support seamless transaction processing and business growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with hands-on expertise in cross-border remittances and exposure to e-money wallet operations, ideally within the GCC markets.

Key Responsibilities
Cross-Border Remittances
Manage end-to-end processing of remittance transactions, including validation, currency conversion, and settlement via MTO rails.
Liaise with banking partners and liquidity providers to maintain adequate funds for efficient transaction execution in remittances.
Perform reconciliations with MTO rails, resolving discrepancies or failed transactions within defined SLAs.
Track FX rates and partner with treasury teams to mitigate FX losses in cross-border remittances.
Oversee accounting workflows and generate partner-level reports for remittances.
Work collaboratively with support teams to resolve transaction inquiries, disputes, and issues promptly.
Offer operational insights to enhance customer experience and streamline resolution processes for remittances.
Own key KPIs and implement enhancements to boost efficiency.
E-Money Wallets
Supervise comprehensive e-money wallet operations with the Wallet OPs lead, encompassing user onboarding, funding (via bank transfers, cards, etc.), balance management, and transaction processing across the GCC.
Work closely with Payment OPs to ensure payment gateways and custodian banks to ensure wallet liquidity and secure, real-time transfers.
Analyze wallet usage, fees, and interchange rates to optimize costs and improve user retention.
Ensure timely reporting to banks, schemes and regulators
Partner with support teams to handle wallet-related queries, such as balance disputes, KYC concerns, or reversals.
Provide actionable insights to refine wallet user experience, and a feature roadmap for the wallet ecosystem
Own wallet-specific KPIs
Cross-Border Remittances
Cultivate and sustain relationships with MTOs, banks, and financial partners to negotiate favorable terms and ensure reliable remittance services.
Identify and secure commercial agreements with new remittance rail providers to optimize corridors as required.
E-Money Wallets
Own partnerships with custodian banks and existing vendors for compliant, efficient and best-in-market wallet offerings.
Identification and end to end closure of new partners vis-a-vis the roadmap of service offerings
Cross-Border Remittances
Oversee remittance portfolio health, focusing on revenue growth, cost optimization, and ECL monitoring in collaboration with the risk team.
Support currency portfolio management by analyzing market conditions and optimizing holdings for remittances.
Contribute to competitive pricing and fee structures that attract customers while preserving profitability.
Own the P&L for remittances, managing cost and revenue lines, attribution margins, and net performance.
Refine pricing strategies to deliver a market-leading remittance offering.
Collaborate with the Consumer Financing Portfolio Manager to enable Send-Now-Pay-Later features via the Tabby Cross-Border Remittance platform.
Prepare monthly SteerCo updates with detailed P&L reports and portfolio strategies for remittances.
Assist in financial planning and investor reporting as necessary.
E-Money Wallets
Monitor wallet portfolio health across the GCC, emphasizing transaction revenue, and improve cost efficiencies.
Optimise wallet pricing models, including fees, tiers, and incentives, to promote adoption and profitability.
Own the P&L for e-money wallets, managing cost and revenue lines, attribution margins, and net performance.
Evolve pricing strategies for competitive, user-centric wallet options in the GCC.
Prepare monthly SteerCo sessions with tailored P&L reports and growth plans for e-money wallets.
Assist in financial planning and investor reporting as necessary.
Cross-Border Remittances
Lead compliance efforts for remittances, including obtaining licenses and NOCs in target markets.
Secure approvals from regional Central Banks for remittance operations.
Obtain NOCs for emerging MTO partners across regions.
Partner with legal, compliance, and product teams for timely regulatory submissions and preparedness.
Implement regulatory mandates for remittance products in collaboration with product teams.
E-Money Wallets
Spearhead compliance for e-money wallets, including E-Money licenses and renewals from GCC regulators
Pursue licensing from Central Banks and authorities in GCC countries for e-money services.
Acquire NOCs for new wallet offerings as opportunities develop.
Partner with legal, compliance, and product teams for timely regulatory submissions and preparedness.
Implement regulatory mandates for e-wallets, such as transaction limits, verification processes, and reporting, with product teams.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Proven experience (4-6 years) in cross-border remittances is mandatory.
Prior management of e-money wallet portfolios, consumer financing, or similar fintech products, preferably in the GCC.
Strong understanding of financial operations, P&L management, and regulatory landscapes in payments and remittances.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to monitor KPIs, optimize processes, and drive profitability.
Demonstrated success in partner management and commercial negotiations.
Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g., in compliance or fintech) are a plus.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work across teams.
