Role Summary

Compass Project Consulting is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to support a prestigious residential real estate development in Ras Al Khaimah, working on behalf of a leading developer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, review, monitoring, and maintenance of project programmes across the design, procurement, and construction phases. Working closely with the Project Management team, consultants, contractors, and the client, the Planning Engineer will monitor project progress, analyse schedule performance, identify programme risks and delays, and support the successful delivery of the project through effective planning and reporting.

This role requires advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, strong analytical and communication skills, and previous experience working within a PMC, consultancy, or client-side environment on major residential, mixed-use, or real estate developments in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules across the design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Prepare baseline programmes, recovery programmes, and revised schedules in accordance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
• Review and analyse contractor and consultant programmes to verify logic, sequencing, critical path activities, and compliance with project milestones.
• Monitor project progress against the approved baseline programme, identify schedule variances, delays, and critical activities, and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform critical path analysis, schedule impact assessments, and what-if scenario analysis to support project decision-making.
• Support the preparation of procurement, engineering, and construction schedules, ensuring alignment with the overall project programme.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and client representatives to obtain progress updates and maintain accurate programme information.
• Prepare weekly and monthly planning reports, dashboards, progress updates, and schedule analyses for the project management team and client.
• Monitor resource loading, productivity trends, and progress performance to identify potential programme risks and mitigation measures.
• Support the development and implementation of project planning procedures, scheduling standards, and reporting templates.
• Ensure compliance with contractual programme requirements and maintain programme documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with Extension of Time (EOT) assessments, delay analysis, and programme-related claims where required.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in planning and project controls, with a minimum of 3 years in the UAE.
• Proven track record in residential, mixed-use or hospitality-led developments.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and advanced Microsoft Excel essential.
• Strong knowledge of construction sequences, project scheduling methods, and earned value management.
• Demonstrated experience working in a client-facing role and managing consultant/contractor deliverables.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills in English (verbal and written).
