Job Overview

We are looking to hire a qualified and experienced Planning Engineer to work as part of a multi-disciplinary post contract project team (on-site) in Dubai.


The right candidate will primarily be responsible for review and approval of the Contractor’s construction program as well as monitoring work progress during the contract period and reporting to the relevant project leader (i.e., the Project Manager or the Resident Engineer).


Primary Activities:

  • Reviews and approves Contractor’s construction plan and program.
  • Monitors work progress in relation to the baseline program and reporting to the relevant Project Leader accordingly.
  • Prepares progress reports at the intervals agreed for each project.
  • Coordinates with the Contractor and Client’s planning representative, in relation to program and progress of work.
  • Coordinates with the contractors in relation to the necessary recovery work program to mitigate delays to the project.
  • Reviews and advises on the suitability of the recovery program proposed by the Contractor.
  • Reviews, analyses and provides recommendations for time-related claims, Extension of Times requests, etc. submitted by the Contractor.
  • Assesses the impact of variations.
  • Assists in contract management by providing necessary input for change management as applicable.


Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to apply strong professional knowledge and solid experience in construction and work program management.
  • Ability to monitor, review and supervise the planning, execution, and progress of construction work for multiple landscape projects under the direction of a project leader.
  • Ability to apply good knowledge in the Society of Construction Law (SCL) Delay and Disruption Protocol to review and analyse program delays, recovery work program options, and the Extension of Time (EOT) claims submitted by the Contractor and provide recommendations.
  • Good understanding of landscape works and related post-contract engineering and construction disciplines and works.
  • Ability to display a highly client-focused interactions and proactive quality-driven approach in all works to promote companys professional image throughout the projects.
  • Good technical communication & reporting skills including reading, writing and interpretation of technical documentation, specifications and reports, proposals, technical briefs, and contracts.
  • Good Computer skills and working knowledge of full MS-Office suite including Primavera (P6), Project Server and SharePoint. Basic good knowledge of CAD, MS BIM/Revit and the latest technologies used in Construction Management.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or any other related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years local experience, ideally related to landscape construction projects. Equivalent experience in infrastructure projects such as roads, or other civil works will be acceptable.
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English. Arabic is an added advantage.
  • Physical ability and fitness to carry out site visits.
  • Ability to drive and manage multiple projects.
