Physics Lab Assistant

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Physics Lab Assistant to support the effective and safe operation of the school’s Physics laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing laboratory materials and equipment, maintaining a safe and organized environment, managing laboratory resources, and assisting teachers and students during practical sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange laboratory equipment, apparatus, materials, and specimens required for Physics practical lessons and experiments.
• Assist teachers in setting up and conducting practical demonstrations and experiments.
• Support students during laboratory sessions and ensure that equipment is used correctly and safely.
• Conduct regular checks of laboratory equipment and report damaged, defective, or malfunctioning items.
• Monitor laboratory inventory and coordinate the timely replenishment of required materials and consumables.
• Ensure that the laboratory is clean, organized, and properly prepared before and after practical sessions.
• Support teachers in preparing practical activities, demonstrations, experiments, and examination requirements.
• Work collaboratively with Physics teachers, Science Department staff, and school management to ensure the smooth functioning of laboratory activities.
• Carry out any other laboratory-related duties assigned by the school management or Head of Science Department.
  
  

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
• Prior experience working as a Physics Lab Assistant, Laboratory Technician, or Science Lab Technician, preferably within a school or educational environment.
• Good knowledge of Physics laboratory equipment, apparatus, experiments, and practical procedures.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures, equipment handling, storage, and emergency protocols.
• Experience in maintaining laboratory inventories, equipment registers, and related documentation.
• Familiarity with supporting practical lessons and examinations in a school environment is preferred.
