Job Description

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pharmacists in the delivery of excellent healthcare to our customers. Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with the preparation and dispensing of prescribed medications.
  • Provide customers with clear and understandable information about their prescriptions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medication files.
  • Manage and organize pharmacy inventory, ensuring proper stock levels are maintained.
  • Receive, verify, and store incoming pharmaceutical supplies efficiently and safely.
  • Process sales transactions and handle cash or credit card payments accurately.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy work areas.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and address any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and medication management.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical regulations and quality standards.
  • Support pharmacists in the compounding and labeling of medications as needed.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Basic math skills are necessary for handling money and measuring dosages.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Proficiency in using computers and pharmacy software systems is desirable.
