A Pharmacy Assistant plays a crucial role in the efficient running of a pharmacy. This professional helps pharmacists manage inventory, prepare prescriptions, and provide customer service. Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in processing prescriptions accurately and efficiently.

  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with patients and addressing inquiries.
  • Educate customers on the use of over-the-counter medications and healthcare products.
  • Perform administrative duties, including answering phones and processing payments.
  • Ensure the pharmacy is clean, organized, and adheres to health and safety standards.
  • Label and package prescriptions with proper instructions and information.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve prescription and insurance queries.
  • Collect pertinent patient information while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
  • Support pharmacy promotional activities to enhance customer awareness and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document customer interactions thoroughly.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on pharmacy protocols and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required.
  • Prior experience in a pharmacy or retail environment is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic understanding of pharmacy law and medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and pharmacy software applications.
  • A keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
