Job Description

As an integral part of the healthcare team, a DHA Licensed Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical services in accordance with the Dubai Health Authority's regulations. This role involves dispensing medications, providing drug information, and advising patients on prescription use. With an in-depth understanding of pharmaceuticals, a Pharmacist ensures the correct supply and dosage of medications, counsels healthcare providers on the optimal use of drugs, and evaluates medication orders for accuracy and safety. The Pharmacist also plays a critical role in the retail or hospital pharmacy setting, offering vital support to patients through their healthcare journey, and ensuring compliance with governmental regulations. This licensed professional must possess excellent communication skills, a sharp attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care, thereby contributing to the betterment of individuals' health and society as a whole.


Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately and ensure patient safety is a priority.
  • Provide essential drug information and advice on prescription and non-prescription medication use.
  • Review and evaluate medication orders for accuracy, dosage, interaction, and compatibility.
  • Offer detailed pharmaceutical advice to healthcare professionals and facility staff.
  • Monitor patient medication therapies and provide interventions when necessary.
  • Ensure the pharmacy complies with government regulations, including the Dubai Health Authority guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and complete pharmacy records for audit and legal purposes.
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of sterile intravenous medications.
  • Assist in inventory management and maintain stock control of pharmaceutical supplies.
  • Conduct health and wellness screenings and provide immunization services as needed.
  • Counsel patients on lifestyle modifications, health conditions, and medication regimens.
  • Stay updated on the latest pharmaceutical developments and emerging medical technologies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited academic institution.
  • Valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) Pharmacist license or eligibility statement.
  • Exceptional knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs and their management.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced pharmacy environment.
  • Commitment to continued professional development and knowledge enhancement.
