Responsibilities

• Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently, ensuring correct dosages and instructions are provided.
• Provide expert advice to patients regarding medication use, side effects, and storage requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations and laws.
• Monitor patient health and progress to ensure medications are achieving the desired effects.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to plan and implement patient-specific care and treatment plans.
• Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications and supplies as necessary.
• Conduct medication reviews, and identify and resolve potential medication-related issues.
• Educate patients about health topics, self-care techniques, and disease prevention methods.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document management systems in compliance with regulations.
• Participate in continuous education and training to maintain licensure and improve professional practice.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Advise healthcare facilities on capably managing pharmaceutical budgets and cost-effective pharmacy practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
• Valid state Pharmacy license in good standing without disciplinary actions.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, and therapeutic medications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in patient care scenarios.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in pharmacy software, electronic health records, and other healthcare IT systems.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with pharmacy innovations.
