Job Description

The Pharmacist (11N25) plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications to promote health and wellness within the community. As a pharmacist, you will be responsible for the preparation, dispensing, and proper utilization of medication for patients. You will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes. This role requires extensive pharmaceutical knowledge, precision, and a dedication to patient care. Compassion and ethical standards guide the work of a pharmacist, ensuring that patient safety is always a top priority. You will also provide educative support to both patients and other healthcare providers, staying up-to-date with new drug therapies to offer the best care possible.


Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescribed medications, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review and interpret physician orders to ensure correct dispensing of pharmaceuticals.
  • Provide medication therapy management services to enhance patient care and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Offer clinical advice and information to healthcare professionals and patients on drug interactions and side effects.
  • Assist in the preparation of extemporaneous pharmaceutical products as required.
  • Monitor the health and progress of patients to ensure safe and effective drug therapy.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispensing transactions and drug therapies administered to patients.
  • Maintain accountability and proper storage of inventory to prevent drug shortages or expirations.
  • Provide education and training to pharmacy staff, healthcare providers, and patients regarding pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current on pharmaceutical advancements and practices.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other health care professionals to provide holistic patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid pharmacist license .
  • Strong understanding of pharmacology, drug indications, and contraindications.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and professional collaboration.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive patient information.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to pharmaceutical practice.
  • Experience with pharmacy management software and medical databases.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Compassionate and patient-centric approach to pharmaceutical care delivery.
