Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy and legality of prescriptions before dispensing medications to patients.
  • Provide patients with expert advice on medication usage and potential side effects.
  • Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper therapy implementation.
  • Oversee the preparation and dispensing of both prescription and over-the-counter medicines.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring all medications are adequately stocked.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to pharmacy practice.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and pharmaceutical documentation for accountability purposes.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on medication management and health improvement strategies.
  • Provide immunization services as permitted by state law and facility policy.
  • Participate in continuous professional development to stay current with pharmaceutical advancements.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to enhance the safety and efficacy of medication practices.
  • Contribute to health promotion activities and provide guidance for community health initiatives.

Requirements

  • Possession of an active Pharmacist license in good standing with state regulations.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical therapy and patient care standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Attention to detail for accurately interpreting prescriptions and medical information.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Proficiency in using pharmacy management software and related technological tools.
