Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled People Specialist with a focus on Offboarding to join our dynamic HR team. This role is pivotal to ensuring smooth transitions for employees exiting the organization. The People Specialist will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the offboarding process, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements, and maintaining positive relationships with departing employees. This position demands an individual who is empathetic, detail-oriented, and adept at navigating complex situations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, as well as the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Responsibilities

  • Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and address any exiting employee concerns.
  • Ensure all required documentation for offboarding processes is completed accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with IT and facilities to ensure the return of company property without issues.
  • Act as a point of contact for legal compliance regarding terminations and employee rights.
  • Develop and implement strategies for a seamless transition during employee departures.
  • Coordinate with payroll and benefits teams to ensure proper final settlements.
  • Maintain a database of offboarding data and provide reports for management insights.
  • Support HR initiatives that aim to reduce turnover and improve workforce retention.
  • Manage the clearance process by ensuring all obligations are fulfilled before departure.
  • Provide counsel and support to exiting employees through all phases of the offboarding process.
  • Compare offboarding practices with market trends to recommend improvements to processes.
  • Facilitate farewell meetings ensuring respectful closure of employment relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in human resources or employee relations.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and compliance in an offboarding context.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage sensitive interactions.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Experience with HR software systems for managing employee records and transitions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.
