Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This individual will oversee the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Supervisor will manage all activities related to payroll and employee payment operations, maintaining records, reports, and deadlines associated with the payroll function. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, a passion for accuracy, and the ability to effectively manage a team in a fast-paced environment. Expertise in payroll software and a solid understanding of applicable laws and regulations are essential for this role.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate payroll processing activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures for improved efficiency.
  • Review and process employee wage and deductions accurately and according to established schedules.
  • Provide training and support to payroll staff to enhance their performance and efficiency.
  • Prepare periodic payroll reports for review by management and other stakeholders.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information and clearing errors.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other operations.
  • Monitor and review the payroll system to ensure system reliability and security.
  • Support audits by providing accurate data and reports of payroll operations as required.
  • Stay informed about new laws or policies that might affect payroll operations and advise management accordingly.
  • Ensure payroll inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately to maintain employee satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Supervisor or similar managerial role in payroll management.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll laws, taxation, and regulations applicable across multiple states.
  • Proficiency with payroll software such as ADP, Paycom, or similar systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail for high accuracy.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the capacity to develop and guide a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to handle payroll-related issues.
