Job Description

The Payroll Supervisor is a critical role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the payroll department. This individual is tasked with ensuring that all payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time. They will lead a team to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. A successful candidate must have superior analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and a robust understanding of payroll processes and related technologies. This role is not only about processing numbers but also about improving payroll operations and providing exceptional service to employees. The Payroll Supervisor must work collaboratively with other departments to resolve any payroll-related issues and continually identify areas for process improvement.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration and processing of payroll for all company employees.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll, benefits, and deductions processing.
  • Lead and manage the payroll team, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Monitor changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Implement and review payroll policies and procedures for efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting to resolve payroll-related discrepancies.
  • Prepare and submit all required payroll-related compliance reports.
  • Maintain employee payroll records with confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation upon request.
  • Analyze payroll data to provide insights and recommendations for improvements.
  • Address employee queries and issues regarding payroll in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement training programs for the payroll department staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing and management.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance and tax regulations is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with various departments and employees.
