Job Description

The Payroll Supervisor position is a critical role responsible for overseeing the payroll department, ensuring that employee salaries, deductions, and taxes are accurately calculated and processed on time. The position requires a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of payroll practices and relevant laws. As a Payroll Supervisor, you will manage a team of payroll clerks, provide guidance and support, and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy. You will also be responsible for reconciling payroll discrepancies and ensuring compliance with governmental regulations. This role plays a vital part in maintaining employee satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate payment of their wages.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the payroll department to ensure efficiency.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll in accordance with laws.
  • Supervise and provide support and training to payroll team members.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures for compliance.
  • Coordinate with the human resources department on employee salary changes.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries promptly.
  • Prepare reports for management regarding payroll data and analysis.
  • Maintain payroll data integrity by performing regular audits and updates.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and legal payroll requirements.
  • Manage payroll software systems and make recommendations for upgrades.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for benefits and tax-related issues.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing payroll costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management or supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll practices, labor laws, and tax regulations.
  • Proficient in using payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Solid leadership skills with the ability to manage and support a team.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail for identifying errors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for handling inquiries.
