Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team and manage the comprehensive payroll processes crucial to our operational success. The Payroll Specialist will ensure that all payments are processed accurately and efficiently within stipulated timelines across our organization. You will work closely with the HR and Finance departments to ensure the impeccable management and execution of our payroll system, compliance with relevant regulations, and addressing inquiries related to payroll. In this role, you will have the opportunity to enhance payroll processes and contribute to the optimization of our payroll system. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record in managing payroll functions within a large organization.


Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for employees accurately and on time every pay period.
  • Maintain payroll data such as garnishments, vacation, and sick leave balances.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate employee records.
  • Address and resolve employee queries and issues related to payroll.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and updated payroll records and reports.
  • Review and verify timesheets, wage computation, and other information to process payroll.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure correct benefit deductions on employee payrolls.
  • Analyze payroll issues to provide insights for better payroll practices and policies.
  • Administer direct deposits and employee benefit contributions into payroll systems.
  • Conduct regular payroll audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end reports, tax filings, and other statutory obligations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role required.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, laws, and regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Excellent numerical skills paired with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with employees effectively.
