Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing payroll activities to ensure employees are compensated accurately and in a timely manner. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, be highly organized, and have a strong ability to work with sensitive and confidential information. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in the business operations by ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, improving payroll processes, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding payroll inquiries and issues.


Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records consistently and thoroughly.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve any issues.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports and filings in accordance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee data integration.
  • Manage and reconcile payroll taxes, benefits, and deductions thoroughly.
  • Audit and verify timekeeping records and leave balances for accuracy.
  • Keep abreast of changes in payroll-related regulations and best practices.
  • Assist with year-end procedures including W-2 distribution and reporting.
  • Improve payroll processing systems and procedures for better efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of payroll processing experience is required.
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems such as ADP or Paycom is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and laws.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
