Job Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing payroll operations to ensure employees are compensated accurately and on time. You will be responsible for handling payroll processing tasks, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations. Your attention to detail, organization skills, and familiarity with payroll systems will be vital in providing employees with a seamless payroll experience. Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date payroll records, reports, and relevant documentation.
  • Verify and ensure payroll transactions comply with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Handle and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues with utmost confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage employee data changes and payroll inputs.
  • Calculate employee benefits, taxes, deductions, and contributions accurately.
  • Prepare periodic payroll financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Review and implement payroll policies aligning with federal and state laws.
  • Communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll questions and concerns.
  • Stay informed on legislative changes affecting payroll operations and compliance.
  • Manage payroll system upgrades and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during payroll audits and inspections.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws and payroll regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred.
