Job Description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play an integral role in ensuring that employees are compensated accurately and on time. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. You will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in resolving payroll discrepancies and answering employee inquiries related to payroll. The ideal candidate is someone who is proficient with payroll software, possesses excellent mathematical skills, and has a strong understanding of payroll best practices. Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for all employees on time.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, hours worked, and wage deductions.
  • Handle payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve any payroll-related issues.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports and checks to management and employees.
  • Manage the setup and maintenance of employee payroll information in systems.
  • Conduct audits to ensure the accuracy of payroll processing and reporting.
  • Generate and file required payroll tax returns and reports on time.
  • Stay updated with new payroll regulations and implement changes as required.
  • Facilitate training sessions for employees on how to access payroll information.
  • Provide support and assistance in year-end processes and reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a payroll specialist or in a similar role required.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are a must.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Effective communication skills to handle payroll inquiries from employees.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team efficiently.
