Job Description

As a Payroll Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time. You will be responsible for managing payroll operations, processing payments, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure that labor costs are effectively managed and employee satisfaction is maintained through timely and accurate payroll processing. You will work closely with the finance department and human resources team to coordinate payroll functions efficiently and address any payroll discrepancies or inquiries. This position requires excellent analytical skills, proficiency in payroll software, and a thorough understanding of payroll processes and procedures.


Responsibilities

  • Calculate and process employee wages and salaries accurately and on time.
  • Verify payroll data and ensure accurate employee timekeeping records.
  • Prepare payroll reports and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Handle inquiries from employees regarding payroll issues and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and updated employee payroll records and details.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure proper employee data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Oversee direct deposit arrangements and manage payroll banking transactions.
  • Ensure all payroll taxes are accurately deducted and reported on time.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements related to payroll expenses.
  • Stay updated on labor laws affecting payroll formulas and calculations.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role required.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, laws, and tax structures.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for ensuring accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with employees and departments.
