The Patient Service Executive is a vital role within the healthcare setting, tasked with ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care and service throughout their medical journey. Operating mainly from the administrative side of medical facilities, the Patient Service Executive acts as the liaison between patients and medical practitioners. They are responsible for managing patient information, scheduling appointments, and enhancing patient satisfaction by addressing queries and concerns promptly. An excellent communicator, the Patient Service Executive must possess the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that every patient interaction is handled with efficiency and care. This role requires a deep understanding of healthcare regulations and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to streamline service delivery. The ideal candidate is not only organized and detail-oriented but also compassionate and patient-focused.


Responsibilities

  • Manage patient appointment schedules with precision and attention to detail.
  • Resolve patient queries and concerns courteously and effectively over the phone or in person.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient processing and service delivery.
  • Collect, update, and maintain accurate records of patient information securely.
  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of patient education materials as needed.
  • Process and verify insurance information required for patient billing systems.
  • Attend to patient admission and discharge procedures efficiently and courteously.
  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Participate in developing strategies to improve patient satisfaction and care efficiency.
  • Employ emergency protocols to manage situations where immediate attention and action are required.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws during all interactions.
  • Contribute to cross-functional team efforts to enhance overall facility performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare administrative role.
  • Proficient in medical terminology and healthcare IT systems used in patient management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related software applications.
  • Demonstrable understanding of healthcare regulations and patient privacy protocols.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering positive patient experiences.
