Job Description

The Pathologist plays a critical role in the medical team, analyzing bodily fluids and tissues to diagnose diseases and medical conditions. A skilled expert in laboratory techniques, the Pathologist provides essential diagnostic information that aids in the selection of medical treatments and determining prognosis. Operating both independently and collaboratively, the Pathologist utilizes state-of-the-art technology and methodologies to ensure accurate assessments. Their work is integral to guiding patient care, influencing medical decisions, and advancing medical knowledge through research. The role demands a high level of precision, attention to detail, and comprehensive understanding of medical sciences. Reporting to the Head of the Pathology Department, the Pathologist will also liaise with other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.


Responsibilities

  • Examine tissues, bodily fluids, and cellular samples to diagnose medical conditions.
  • Conduct gross and microscopic examination to identify disease processes.
  • Prepare detailed and precise pathology reports for referring physicians and specialists.
  • Collaborate with laboratory technicians and medical staff for accurate results.
  • Provide expert consultations and pathology opinions for complex cases.
  • Train and supervise pathology residents and medical students as required.
  • Participate in quality assessment programs to maintain laboratory standards.
  • Engage in ongoing research to enhance pathology knowledge and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory standards at all times.
  • Communicate findings effectively with multidisciplinary medical teams.
  • Stay updated with advancements in pathology through continuing education.
  • Assist in the development and updating of pathology protocols and procedures.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with board certification in Pathology.
  • Valid medical license to practice pathology .
  • Proven experience working in clinical or hospital laboratory settings.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and precision.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with medical professionals.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple diagnostic tasks efficiently.
  • Commitment to patient care and commitment to ethical medical practices.
