POST: Primary Pastoral Teaching Assistant at Safa Community School, Dubai

Currently, we are in search of a dynamic and passionate Primary Pastoral Teaching assistant to join our highly accomplished primary department.

The successful applicant will already be resident in Dubai. Only applicants already based in Dubai will be considered.

About The Role

The successful applicant will demonstrate high levels of motivation and have the ability to engage, support, lead and inspire children to raise standards along with delivering effective outcomes for all children. You will preferably have experience delivering the Primay or National Curriculum for England either in the UK or an international setting.

General Professional Responsibilities

  • Support the emotional wellbeing, pastoral care and social development of children across the phase.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students, acting as a calm, caring and supportive role model.
  • Provide individual and small group wellbeing support, helping children develop emotional regulation, confidence, resilience and positive friendships.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, leaders and families to ensure children’s pastoral and wellbeing needs are effectively supported.
  • Promote children’s independence, self-esteem, inclusion and positive behaviour throughout the school day.
  • Support children during key transition times, unstructured play and moments of emotional need.
  • Assist in creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and heard.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding and wellbeing procedures in line with school policies.
  • Provide administrative and organisational support linked to wellbeing and pastoral provision where required.

Education

  • Due to regulations, we can only employ individuals with a minimum of High School/Secondary School education in English and Mathematics or a degree.
  • A qualification or background in Counselling, Psychology, Child Development, Wellbeing, Social Work, or a related field would be preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, pastoral care, or safeguarding within an educational setting is required.

  • All applications must be submitted on the TES/Schrole Portal. Only applications submitted through the Portal will be considered.
  • Only applications with relevant experience will be considered.
  • Only applicants already residing in Dubai will be considered.
  • Submit an up to date, full resume / CV.
  • Submit a covering letter of no more than two A4 pages.
  • Provide at least three referees’ names, telephone numbers (with international dialling codes), and email addresses. One must be a current employer.
  • Applications will be assessed in order of receipt and interviews may occur at any stage after applications are received. We reserve the right to appoint before the closing date and therefore invite interested candidates to apply as soon as possible.
  • Once initial interviews are concluded, arrangements will be made individually with those candidates who will proceed to the second round of interviews.

Upon request, feedback will only be provided to candidates who progress to the interview stages.
