Part-Time Lecturer of Computer-Aided Design

School of Architecture and Interior Design

Canadian University Dubai (CUD) is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer of Computer-Aided Design to join the School of Architecture and Interior Design. The successful candidate will be a graduate in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related design discipline, with a strong interest in design education and the ability to support students in developing essential digital design competencies.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related design discipline.
• Candidates should demonstrate expertise in Computer-Aided Design and Building Information Modelling, with advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit.
• The successful candidate should be able to effectively teach digital drafting, 3D modelling, visualization, and documentation workflows within an architecture and interior design education context.

Additional experience in the following areas will be prioritized:

• Rhino
• Laser cutting equipment
• 3D printing equipment
  
  

Teaching Areas

• Teaching will focus on key areas of Computer-Aided Design and digital design practice, including:
• Digital drafting and technical drawing using industry standard software
• Building Information Modelling and documentation workflows
• 3D modelling for architectural and interior design applications
• Visualization techniques that support design communication
• Digital workflows that integrate design development, presentation, and production
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Teach part-time courses in Computer-Aided Design, Building Information Modelling, and related digital design areas.
• Prepare and deliver engaging learning activities that support student understanding of digital drafting, 3D modelling, visualization, and documentation workflows.
• Support students in developing practical proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and related digital design tools.
• Provide timely feedback, assessment, and guidance to students in accordance with course learning outcomes.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and professionally focused learning environment.
• Maintain accuracy, punctuality, and effective communication in all teaching related responsibilities.
• Support the School of Architecture and Interior Design in delivering high quality design education aligned with current academic and professional standards.
