Job Description

The role of a Painter Supervisor 26J25 involves overseeing and leading a team of painters who are responsible for applying paint, varnish, enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, and other structures. A central aspect of this position is planning and executing painting jobs to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with safety standards. The Painter Supervisor must possess extensive knowledge of the various techniques of the painting trade and be capable of managing projects that meet client specifications. The supervisor is also expected to provide training, conduct safety meetings, and maintain records of work performed and materials used. Strong leadership skills are crucial to inspire and motivate the painting team while ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within the budget, and to the highest standards of quality.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily painting operations to ensure quality control and efficient workflow.
  • Plan and coordinate painting projects including timelines, resources, and personnel.
  • Train team members on proper painting techniques and safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings to comply with regulatory standards and practices.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets client specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used on projects.
  • Assess and select appropriate painting materials and supplies for various projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients about project progress and feedback.
  • Manage budgets to ensure painting projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Provide performance feedback to team members and conduct performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and managers to improve overall project outcomes.
  • Address and resolve any issues or challenges on the job site promptly.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Painter Supervisor or similar managerial role in painting.
  • Extensive knowledge of painting procedures, products, tools, and safety standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, understanding specifications, and executing precise work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for team and client interaction.
