Job Description

The role of an Orthodontist is both specialized and crucial in the field of dental healthcare. As an Orthodontist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, preventing, and treating dental and facial irregularities to help align teeth, jaws, and bites. You will work closely with patients to create personalized treatment plans, using braces, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances to achieve the desired results. Your expertise will not only contribute to the enhancement of the aesthetic appearance of patients' teeth but also to the improvement of their overall oral health. This position requires a deep understanding of dental anatomy, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a compassionate approach towards patients of all ages.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose dental conditions and develop detailed treatment plans for patients.
  • Apply braces, retainers, and other orthodontic appliances effectively.
  • Monitor the progress of orthodontic treatments over time and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families on maintaining good oral hygiene and dental care.
  • Collaborate with general dentists and other specialists for comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments and techniques in orthodontic practice.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Provide consultations to new patients and explain available treatment options.
  • Train and supervise dental hygienists, assistants, and trainee orthodontists.
  • Design appliances tailored to the specific needs and conditions of patients.
  • Perform diagnostic assessments using X-rays, photographs, and plaster models.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to ensure satisfaction and comfort.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree is mandatory.
  • Completion of residency program in Orthodontics from an accredited dental school.
  • Licensed to practice as an Orthodontist in the state of application.
  • Proficient in using orthodontic equipment and digital imaging technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction and education.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development in orthodontics.
