Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometrist to join our dynamic eye care team. As an Optometrist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the vision and overall eye health of our patients. You will be responsible for conducting eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, and prescribing glasses or contact lenses. Our ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the latest optometric techniques, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills to discuss treatment plans effectively with patients. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness, and prescribe corrective lenses.
  • Detect and diagnose eye diseases, such as glaucoma or cataracts, and provide appropriate treatments.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
  • Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and the use of contact lenses.
  • Advise on necessary eye exercises to strengthen eye muscles and improve vision.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records including medical history and examination results.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in optometry and integrate them into daily practice.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Offer advice to patients on lifestyle adjustments and safety practices to protect eye health.
  • Supervise the work of optometric assistants or opticians within the practice.
  • Participate in vision screenings and community health programs as needed.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  • license to practice optometry is mandatory prior to employment.
  • Strong understanding of optometric practices and procedures is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain diagnoses and treatments to patients.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse patient caseload effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing education to stay current with optical advancements.
  • Demonstrated empathy and patient-care skills to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.
