Responsibilities

  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing eye surgery.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient records and document the accurate medical history.
  • Collaborate with ophthalmologists and healthcare professionals for patient referrals.
  • Educate patients on maintaining eye health and wellness tips effectively.
  • Manage inventory of contact lenses, glasses, and other eye care products.
  • Utilize specialized equipment for diagnosing and addressing vision issues.
  • Stay informed regarding new treatments and technologies in optometry.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare policies and optometric ethical standards.
  • Mentor and supervise optometric technicians and support staff when necessary.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school required.
  • State optometry license and certification to practice.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess patient needs and determine treatments.
  • Proficient in using optical diagnostic equipment and tools efficiently.
  • Outstanding communication skills for effective patient and team interactions.
  • High attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of prescriptions and records.
  • Familiarity with the latest optometric techniques and vision correction technologies.
