Job Description

As an Operations & Shipping Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods from origin to destination. This role involves coordinating with various departments and external vendors to facilitate shipping operations efficiently. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day shipping tasks, which include logistics planning, freight management, and shipment tracking. Your expertise in handling shipping documentation, compliance with shipping regulations, and problem-solving will ensure timely delivery of goods. A detail-oriented thinker with excellent communication skills, you are adept at handling the intricate dynamics of the supply chain management and thrive in high-pressure environments. Your role will support the company’s operational goals, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining high standards for cost-effectiveness.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of shipping and logistics operations.
  • Develop efficient shipping strategies to optimize logistics processes.
  • Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and carriers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Resolve shipping issues, such as delivery disruptions or delays, promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipping activities and logistics data.
  • Ensure all operations comply with local, national, and international regulations.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to develop process improvements.
  • Liaise with customer service to inform them of shipment statuses.
  • Analyze shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Regularly update leadership on operational performance and challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in operations or shipping within a similar industry.
  • Strong understanding of shipping processes and logistics management.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills for meeting deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and logistics software systems.
