Job Description

The Operations Manager – Cargo 16N25 position is a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management and smooth operation of cargo activities within our organization. The individual in this role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, managing a team of professionals, and coordinating with multiple departments to optimize performance. A successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership skills, a detailed understanding of logistics and supply chain management, and the ability to improve operational processes continuously. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage resources, resolve issues promptly, and sustain high-performance standards to meet the organization’s objectives and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily cargo operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to schedules.
  • Manage and supervise cargo handling staff, ensuring optimal productivity and morale.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate with sales and customer service departments to meet client requirements.
  • Monitor cargo shipments ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Analyze operational reports to identify areas of improvement and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with logistics providers to optimize transportation and delivery timelines.
  • Lead operational meetings and training sessions to address any procedural updates.
  • Ensure all operational activities are conducted in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics and transportation partners.
  • Implement strategies to enhance productivity and operational capabilities continuously.
  • Resolve operational conflicts by implementing effective problem-solving strategies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in cargo operations or logistics management is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the fast-paced logistics environment is required.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills with a strategic approach to resource management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is preferred.
