Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room before surgical procedures ensuring the right equipment is available.
• Maintain a sterile field and environment throughout surgical operations to prevent infections.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during surgeries accurately and efficiently.
• Handle and manage surgical instruments to prevent contamination and ensure readiness.
• Monitor and adhere to health and safety regulations within the operating theatre.
• Check and assemble surgical tools and equipment before surgery procedures commence.
• Conduct regular maintenance and checks on operating room instruments and equipment.
• Ensure specimens are labeled and sent for appropriate laboratory evaluation as required.
• Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room in a safe manner.
• Provide care and support to patients in the perioperative environment, ensuring their comfort.
• Document and update records related to surgical procedures accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient procedure flow and patient care.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma in Operation Theatre Technology from a recognized institution.
• Proven experience as an Operation Theatre Technician in a reputed healthcare facility.
• Excellent understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and safety standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the surgical team effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress environment maintaining composure.
• Proficiency in the use of computer systems and software related to operation theatre technology.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle long periods of standing and operating tasks.
