Job Description

The Officer - Collection Operations 12F25 is a pivotal role focusing on managing and overseeing collection activities within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring that outstanding debts are collected in a timely manner, whilst maintaining good rapport with clients. It requires a blend of strategic thinking and operational skills to develop collection strategies that minimize losses and optimize cash flow. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of collections processes and techniques, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. By implementing effective collection tactics and closely monitoring accounts, the Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the company.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement collection strategies to achieve departmental targets and objectives.
  • Monitor accounts for overdue payments and initiate collection efforts promptly.
  • Negotiate repayment plans and payment schedules with delinquent clients.
  • Maintain detailed records of all communication and transactions with clients.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of collections and outstanding accounts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations during collection activities.
  • Analyze collection data to identify trends and recommend improvement measures.
  • Provide training and support to junior staff on collection procedures.
  • Manage escalated cases and complex issues related to collection operations efficiently.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate them into daily operations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients to facilitate future interactions and payments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in collection operations or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of collection processes and relevant legal regulations necessary.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage client interactions effectively.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare detailed collection operation reports.
  • Proficiency in using collection management software and tools required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
