About The Community

Cormorant Lake School is a Nursery to Grade 10 school with 99 students located in Cormorant, Manitoba, 80 kms northeast of The Pas. This lakeside town offers community services such as a nursing station, park, community hall and year-round road access. Services such as grocery shopping and banking are available in The Pas.

• Bachelor of Education Degree and preferably a Masters Degree in Education or related field and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
• Manitoba Inclusive Education Teaching certificate or certification in progress
• A sound knowledge of provincial curricula
• Previous teaching experience and previous experience as a Resource Teacher
• Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction
• Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment
• Familiar with appropriate educational programming
• Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life (considered an asset)
• Experience working in a northern community (considered an asset)
