About the location:

Located on the southeastern coast of the pristine island of Lāna’i, lies the secluded retreat of Four Seasons Resort Lāna’i, an oceanfront destination offering travelers a curated, personalized island escape. The five-star, five-diamond Resort offers outdoor restaurants, including Nobu Lāna’i, a kid’s club, Tennis Garden, cultural programming, beach and pool with spacious seating areas nestled among tropical gardens, Hawanawana spa and luxury retail boutiques. Built on lava outcroppings, the award-winning Jack Nicklaus-signature golf course features ocean views on every hole. Island activities, many managed by Four Seasons include sunset sails and whale watch tours, horseback riding, sporting clays and archery, biking, hiking, and aerial adventures at Lanai Adventure Park or learn about Hawaiian wayfinding at the on-site observatory.

NOBU SERVER

The Four Seasons Resort Lāna’i is looking for a Server who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. Our teams have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and exemplifying the Golden Rule in each interaction. Work authorization required.

NOBU LĀNA‘I

Set cliff side overlooking a protected marine preserve, NOBU LĀNA‘I offers sweeping panoramic views and innovative Japanese cuisine. Drawing upon Chef Matsuhisas classical training as a sushi chef in Tokyo, his life abroad in South America and his travels around the world, his culinary style blends classical techniques with exotic global flavors. NOBU LĀNA‘I showcases signature new-style Japanese cuisine, as well as new creations infusing local ingredients. Sip a signature cocktail in the lounge, take a seat at the sushi bar or enjoy dinner at one of the outdoor tables. Inspired by the simplistic lines found in Japanese architecture and a palette rich with teak timbers and meticulous wood detailing, the decor easily blurs the lines between interior and exterior space as diners gaze upon the sand and waters of Hulopo‘e Bay, often referred to as one of Hawaii’s most beautiful beaches.

What You’ll Do

A Server delivers a welcoming and engaging dining experience by greeting guests, introducing them to the restaurant, and providing attentive, professional table service. This role includes offering menu guidance, accommodating special requests, maintaining properly set and clean tables, and responding to guest needs with courtesy and efficiency to ensure a high level of satisfaction throughout the meal. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Welcome guests and deliver attentive, professional service throughout the dining experience while collaborating closely with the restaurant team and support staff.
  • Provide a warm introduction to the restaurant by guiding guests through menu offerings, explaining the restaurant concept, services, and daily specials, offering water service, and ensuring tables are properly set and maintained.
  • Describe and guide guests through food and beverage selections with engaging, detailed explanations of ingredients, flavor profiles, origins, and preparation methods.
  • Accurately enter guest orders and special requests into the point‑of‑sale system; coordinate with the kitchen to ensure proper timing of courses; and verify completed dishes for accuracy and dietary requirements.
  • Ensure guest needs are met to promote overall satisfaction, maintain accurate guest information in the reservations system, promptly clear used items, reset tables as needed, and provide thoughtful recommendations.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly, courteously, and professionally to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Close guest checks accurately by processing cash and credit card transactions and handling adjustments, voids, or complimentary items in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform setup, breakdown, and cleaning of tables and service stations in accordance with restaurant standards.

What To Bring

  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States
  • The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Holidays and weekends availability is required.
  • Required by the Hawaii State Department of Health to obtain a Tuberculous (TB) clearance card and Hawaii Food Handler’s Card
  • Maui Liquor Card Preferred, but not required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts
  • Maintains a guest‑focused mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills, effectively upsells to enhance the guest experience, and demonstrates strong attention to detail while keeping a clean, organized, and well‑stocked workspace
