The Network Engineer, Unified Communications is a member of AVI-SPL’s Technology and Innovation organization, responsible for implementing, and supporting network infrastructure that enables Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) platforms.
This role ensures reliable connectivity and optimal performance for digital media, digital signage, workplace experience solutions, and enterprise voice/video systems across global accounts.
The position coordinates with internal stakeholders to plan, deploy, and manage network solutions supporting UCC strategies, including Cisco, Meraki, Microsoft Teams UCC and Voice, and network audio/video distribution and control platforms such as Crestron, DANTE and QSYS.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Supports frontline field engineers, systems designers, control system programmers (Crestron), and field technicians by ensuring network infrastructure readiness for Unified Communications, Digital Media, Digital Signage, Workplace Experience solutions, and enterprise voice/video platforms.
- Participate in all stages of network deployment, and support as it relates to customer experiences and lifecycle activities.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field engineers, systems designers, control system programmers, and field technicians during installation, commissioning, and maintenance of UCC and AV network solutions.
- Understand and support global network capabilities for UCC platforms, assisting with licensing, design remediation, changes, and implementation processes for all global locations.
- Support configurations, deployments and enabling our teams to deploy and maintain Zoom, Google, Microsoft Teams UCC and Voice, Cisco, and other Cloud UCC solutions.
- Promote secure and reliable network configuration and practices.
- Collaborate in technical forums and watercooler meetings focused on network best practices for UCC platforms and AV distribution technologies.
- Troubleshoot network issues remotely for exotic AV / UC payloads and interconnections. Provide leadership to ensure business outcomes, user experience are minimally impacted.
- Continuous learning for Cisco, Meraki, Microsoft Teams, DANTE, QSYS, Crestron, Netgear, and other relevant platforms.
- Design, deploy, configure, and commission virtual server environments across on premise and cloud platforms including ESXi, AWS, Hyper V, and Nutanix to support UCC, AV, and enterprise systems.
- Provide operational support for Windows and Linux based servers, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, patching, and lifecycle management.

Skills And Abilities

- Strong business acumen and ability to interface credibly at a highly technical level regarding network and UCC topics.

- Technical expertise in networking for Cisco, Meraki, Netgear, Forti, Microsoft Teams UCC and Voice, DANTE, QSYS, Crestron, Google, and Zoom platforms, including both technical and operational aspects.
- Exceptional structured problem-solving skills.
- Technical aptitude and ability to be a self-driven learner with credible understanding of UCC, Audio/Visual, Collaboration, and Meeting space network technologies.
- Strong hands on experience with virtualized infrastructure and cloud platforms, supporting both Windows and Linux server environments across enterprise deployments.
- Knowledge of regional differences in support of international network deployments.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Project, and Adobe Acrobat.
Education And/or Experience
- Minimum of a 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or comparable industry experience required.
- Experience working with international accounts/program deployments preferred.
- Network certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP), UCC platform certifications (Zoom, Google, Microsoft Teams, Cisco), AV distribution platform certifications (DANTE, QSYS), and control system programming certifications (Crestron) preferred.
- Experience in network engineering for UCC platforms, AV distribution, and enterprise technology management preferred.
- Demonstrated experience building and commissioning virtual server platforms in both cloud and on premise environments preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, UCC, AV technology, or enterprise technology management preferred.
