Mobile Crane Operator (225-911)

As a Mobile Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating mobile cranes to move, lift, position, or place machinery, equipment, and other large objects at various construction sites. Your role is critical to the successful completion of many construction and engineering projects. You will need to have a strong understanding of crane mechanics and safety regulations. Additionally, you'll work closely with site managers, engineers, and other crew members to ensure that crane operations are executed smoothly and effectively. This role requires precision, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to interpret and follow technical plans. Working as a mobile crane operator will also involve carrying out routine maintenance checks and preparing the crane for transport to and from sites. The ideal candidate will be adept at working independently while still efficiently collaborating with a broader team.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile cranes to move, position, or place heavy objects or materials.
• Conduct pre-operational checks to ensure crane safety and functionality.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on crane equipment for operational readiness.
• Collaborate with site managers to coordinate lifting tasks and operational logistics.

• Perform troubleshooting on equipment issues or mechanical failures when necessary.
• Follow directional signals accurately as communicated by ground crew or signalers.
• Implement rigging procedures and secure loads safely and effectively.
• Assist in the transportation or assembly/disassembly of crane equipment around sites.
• Maintain effective communication with site personnel and project managers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education qualification is necessary.
• Possession of a valid crane operator's license or certification is required.
• Proven experience operating mobile cranes in a construction environment is essential.
• Strong understanding of crane safety regulations, protocols, and procedures.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude are crucial skills.
