Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive antenatal care, including screenings and educational support.
• Assess female health during prenatal visits and evaluate well-being of fetus.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement birth plans.
• Assist mothers through labor, delivering babies safely and efficiently.
• Monitor and document maternal and fetal conditions during childbirth.
• Provide immediate postpartum care and advice for mother and newborn.
• Recognize and respond to emergency situations during delivery promptly.
• Educate families on infant care, breastfeeding, and parenting skills.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate medical records for all cases.
• Offer support and comfort to mothers struggling with labor pains.
• Coordinate with obstetricians when medical interventions are necessary.
• Participate in continuous education to stay current with midwifery practices.

Requirements

• Valid midwifery degree or certification from an accredited institution.
• Proven experience working as a midwife in hospital or clinical settings.
• Excellent understanding of prenatal, labor, and postpartum care practices.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and families.
• Emotional resilience with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification and knowledge of emergency care procedures.
