Job Description

As a Merchandiser, you will play a vital role in optimizing retail sales by ensuring that products are strategically placed and presented to attract customers and drive sales. The merchandiser is responsible for aesthetic displays, analyzing sales data, understanding customer needs, and liaising with suppliers and other retailers. Your strategic insight into current trends and a keen eye for detail will ensure displays are visually appealing while also balancing stock levels. A successful merchandiser blends creativity with commercial acumen, ensuring products are consistently available and attractively displayed to support the business’s sales objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop merchandising strategies that balance customers’ expectations and company’s objectives.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and buyers to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with store operations teams to ensure displays are well-executed.
  • Analyze sales figures, market trends, and customer feedback to plan layouts and promotions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to create promotional displays and advertisements.
  • Monitor stock levels and rotate products to ensure freshness and availability.
  • Arrange and maintain product displays to enhance the customer experience and drive sales.
  • Develop strong relationships with vendors to negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery terms.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to forecast sales and plan stock levels accordingly.
  • Develop and implement visual merchandising guidelines and standards for store locations.
  • Keep product displays clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
  • Provide training to store staff on merchandising standards and product promotion techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in merchandising or a related retail role is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to deal with suppliers and store teams.
  • Creativity and an eye for detail to design appealing product displays.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and visual merchandising tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the retail industry trends and customer habits.
