Job Description

A Merchandiser plays a key role in the retail industry by ensuring products are appropriately presented to customers and are available in retail stores. The Merchandiser 07D25 position involves a seamless understanding of market trends, inventory management, and consumer behavior. The professional in this role optimizes sales opportunities by effectively coordinating stock levels, product distribution, and display aesthetics. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to secure beneficial terms and conditions.
  • Analyze sales figures and market trends to forecast future product demands.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate reorder schedules to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with store floor staff on effective product display and organization.
  • Conduct regular market research to understand competitive product offerings and pricing.
  • Develop promotional strategies and marketing plans to boost product visibility.
  • Manage and balance the merchandising budget effectively to maximize profit.
  • Provide training and support to junior merchandising staff and store personnel.
  • Prepare detailed reports for management, highlighting key sales and merchandising metrics.
  • Liaise with the logistics team to ensure timely and efficient distribution processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and retail standards in all merchandising activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in retail merchandising or a similar role is required.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to forecast sales trends accurately.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build lasting supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate successfully between teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using merchandising tools and inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of consumer behavior and latest retail trends is essential.
