Job Description

The MEP QAQC Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within construction projects. This position demands an individual with a keen eye for detail, substantial knowledge of industry standards, and the ability to implement quality management systems effectively. The MEP QAQC Engineer will be responsible for inspecting MEP installations, reviewing designs, facilitating testing and commissioning processes, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety regulations. A successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other engineers to deliver high-quality construction outcomes.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure MEP installations meet project requirements.
  • Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and documentation thoroughly for adherence.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance and control plans for MEP systems.
  • Coordinate with project managers and contractors to resolve any quality issues promptly.
  • Prepare detailed QAQC reports, highlighting areas of concern and suggested improvements.
  • Facilitate the testing and commissioning processes for MEP systems and equipment.
  • Ensure all MEP activities comply with safety standards and regulations effectively.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineering teams on quality matters.
  • Monitor the progress and performance of subcontractors related to MEP installations.
  • Implement corrective actions to address and prevent recurring quality issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements related to MEP engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with design teams to identify and mitigate potential quality risks early.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in MEP QAQC engineering within construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and quality management systems is essential.
  • Proficiency in construction documentation, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to address quality issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Professional certifications like LEED AP, PMP, or similar are preferred but not mandatory.
