The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Estimator is a crucial position within our construction and project management team, responsible for delivering accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for MEP projects. As an MEP Estimator, you will be required to interpret blueprints, assess project requirements, and prepare detailed cost analyses that assist in successful bidding and project completion. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and contractors to gather all necessary information and make informed decisions that support the project’s financial efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and extensive knowledge of construction and MEP systems. The MEP Estimator not only ensures the project stays within budget but also contributes to the overall profitability and success of the project by providing precision in cost estimations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze MEP specifications, blueprints, and designs for accurate cost estimation.
• Prepare detailed MEP cost estimates by understanding project scope and requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project managers to determine project needs.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate project pricing.
• Review and adjust estimates to ensure they align with client budgets and timelines.
• Develop and maintain a database of historical data for future project estimations.
• Evaluate risks and provide mitigation strategies for cost estimation processes.
• Perform cost-benefit analysis and assess vendor quotations for projects.
• Participate in proposal presentations and support project acquisitions when necessary.
• Update project estimations regularly to align with changing project circumstances.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all estimates.
• Deliver regular reports to senior managers on project cost estimation status.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in estimating MEP systems within a construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction materials, and industry standards.
• Proficient in industry-standard estimating software and computer-based applications.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills required for accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills to interact with team members, vendors, and clients.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain high-quality work output.
