The MEP Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing cost estimates for construction and engineering projects that involve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components. This role requires a deep understanding of MEP systems, financial acumen, and the ability to interpret technical project documentation. The Estimation Engineer will collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to gather all necessary information to produce accurate and comprehensive cost estimates. They will need to use state-of-the-art estimation software, conduct risk assessments, and create detailed reports. This position offers a vital link between the design and execution phases of construction projects, ensuring that financial goals and project specifications are met within the set budget and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for MEP-related projects based on project specifications.
• Collaborate with architects and project managers to gather necessary information for estimation purposes.
• Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to identify project requirements.
• Utilize industry-leading estimation software to calculate preliminary project costs and budgets.
• Conduct risk analysis and propose mitigation strategies to address potential project risks.
• Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate quotes and pricing for services and materials.
• Create and maintain detailed records of all estimates, assumptions, and project constraints.
• Present cost estimates and reports to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure estimates are aligned with project objectives and timelines.
• Monitor and update estimates as project specifications and conditions change over the project lifecycle.
• Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting for complex engineering projects.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all estimation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in MEP estimation or a similar role in construction.
• Proficiency in estimation software such as AutoCAD, MS Office, and CostX.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and MEP systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate calculations and estimates.
• Strong communication skills to clearly present estimation findings and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively under pressure.
